untitled(2006)/single-channel video/60mins///. The video piece untitled (2006) demonstrates the exploration of video as sculpture. The work documents what can be seen as a series of attempts in setting up a particular sculptural situation, the artist’s body and a chair in equilibrium. Over the course of an hour both failures and successes are shown candidly.

arrangement150/2010/hardbound artist book/edition of 5/// This series documents 150 individual arrangements of plastic stackable chairs. The arrangements consist of groups numbering from one to ten chairs. All arrangements were assembled and recorded in the same space. All arrangements interact with either the floor or walls of their environment. The resulting images are presented in this volume following a logical, accumulative sequenced order. This work was invited for inclusion in Bizarre Bazaar @ Pallas Projects, Dublin, 2010
18 art department doorstops with associate wedge works/2016/c-type prints on archival paper and short edition zine/// In response to an invitation to show in the exhibition WORK at the Mills Centre, London, I produced the photographic series 18 Art Department Doorstops and the publication Associate Wedge Works. Gathering all the doorstops in my place of work, Highgate School Art Department, their locations were logged, they were individually documented then returned to their source locations. The resulting typological prints were displayed in a grid that referenced the order in which the doorstops were found.
associate wedge works/ short edition laser printed zine/// Working in collaboration with colleagues and students, both past and current, the short edition zine Associated Wedge Works brought together multi-disciplinary responses to this work. A writer, musicians, a philosopher and other visual artists produced pieces which linked directly and indirectly to 18 Art Department Doorstops. This publication can be considered as an exhibition within an exhibition and questions how we delineate and differentiate between specialist places of work, with their established specialist skills, crafts and knowledge.

recursion: rock_paper_scissors /2021/ single-channel video/ 2min 31sec/// In mathematics recursion is the process of defining a problem or its solution in terms of itself. In this video, the recursive nature of the traditional children’s hand game, Rock Paper Scissors, is observed through cyclical sequences of all possible outcomes. Unlike a conventional round of the game, the players here follow pre-determined instructions and can be seen to enact a choreographed simulation of the game’s fundamental code.
someone else’s, somewhere/ 2015/ c-type prints on archival paper/// Although the photographs in Someone Else's, Somewhere were taken in Berlin they are not specifically about Berlin. Rather, the visual vernacular of this modern city is employed here to suggest spaces and situations that are common to many of our urban environments. Drawing an analogue with Constable's work, these images look to the edges, the margins and to spaces of transition. However, pastoral scenes of hedges, cart tracks and bucolic streams have been replaced by their urban equivalents: scaffolding, hoardings and weed strewn tarmac. The exhibition Someone Else's, Somewhere was shown at The Mills Centre, London, in September 2015 and consisted of a selection of 12 digital prints from 35mm negatives.

House Rules/work in progress/ongoing/// This series observes incidental events and chance occurrences in the domestic setting. Compounded by lockdowns, this ongoing project looks at a busy family home as the site for themes that recur in my practice to date.
